Dear Skaters (and parents),
Building on last year's success with the Mariposa Monarchs Synchronized Skating Team, we will be continuing with synchro again this winter. Robert Leger is continuing on as the main synchro coach and he is looking forward to the new season ahead of us.
We will be holding a try-out session for all skaters interested in joining synchro this year. This try-out session will allow us to place skaters into different teams, and if you have never done synchro before it will give you a chance to see if you enjoy it prior to registering for the Winter session.
Try Out Session:
Location: Superior Propane Centre, Rink D
Date: Saturday, Sept 22nd
Time: 2-3pm
Cost: $20 per skater (to be paid in cash as you enter the ice)
The synchro season will take place during the Winter session (Oct 9, 2018 - March 23, 2019) and the days and times for the practices are currently being determined. The cost for the session is $240 for Mariposa Moncton Skating Club members and $280 for non-members.
As always, we are happy to have figure skaters from our club but we also warmly invite skaters from other clubs to join us. Figure skaters with synchro experience and those who are new to this fun and challenging team sport are all welcome to attend the 'tryouts', as are figures skaters from all different skill levels.
If you are unsure about trying synchro or not, please feel free to discuss it with either Robert or Joanne. Our co-managers this year are Stephanie Baker-Humphrey (aka: Cameron's mom) and Brenda LeFrançois (aka: Juliette and Adèle's mom), and they are also both happy to discuss synchro with parents and skaters alike.
We hope to see you at the tryouts on Saturday, September 22nd!!
