History
The Moncton Skating Club,
now known as the Mariposa Moncton Skating Club, is a non-profit
organization founded in 1952 by Mr Whitney H. Harris.
For over 52 years, it has
provided skating lessons for the citizens of the Greater
Moncton area. Because of its coaches and programs,
the Moncton Club has grown to be the largest skating centre
in Atlantic Canada.
In 1985, the club hired
Emery Leger as its first director. Many positive things
have continued to happen throughout the years. In 1996,
the club became the 1st satellite of Doug Leigh's Mariposa-Barrie
and due to our affiliation with Mariposa-Barrie we have welcomed
many renowned national and international coaches and competitors. |
